Determining Your Skin Type
So there are many skin types and each skin type has characteristics so you can determine the skin type you have… On top of skin types there are also skin conditions and it is important that you can differentiate between both cause everyone has a skin type that they are born with but a condition is something that you can get from an imbalance or by doing something to the skin at some stage…
So lets start with the different types of skin types and there characteristics so you can tell which one is yours:
1. Normal: This is a perfect balance of oil production, it is very hard to maintain normal skin cause any environmental or hormonal issues can change this very fast.. This skin types have very little break outs looks radiant and has great elasticity. Complexation looks flawless and smooth .
2. Dry: Now dry skin is where there is an imbalance in oil production which means not enough oil produced. This skin type can be characterized as tight, itchy, dull and have bad circulation. Pores are tight and tends to have more wrinkles as oily keeps the skin lubricated. This skin type can also be prone to irritation.
3. Oily: Oily skin is very problematic and is again an imbalance in the skin where now it produces to much oil.. Normally there are blackheads(comedones), pustules and papules, in other words spots and some cases can be cystic and have very enlarged pores. If not managed this skin type can become acneic.
4. Sensitive: Sensitive skin tends to be very irritated and have a lot of inflammation with a lot of redness on the skin due to capillaries been weak and sudden changes in the weather, ie extreme cold or heat, will break the capillary allowing the blood to come to the surface this causing the redness, so when the capillary breaks it also allows lymph to escape to and sometimes you can get acne looking spots on the skin but instead of them been filled with pus its filled with lymph which is basically your toxins that are in the blood stream. Sometimes it can look scaly and tight but this is not always the case and you will see why when we get onto skin conditions.
5: Combination: This is where you can a few different skin types on one skin type…
In my next blog I will talk about skin conditions, this is a problem that maybe found on the skin but is not a skin type just an environmental issue that has happened to the skin so it has thrown off the natural balance making you feel like you have another skin type when you don’t…. This is very important part of determining what is going on with the skin……
At a later stage i am going to go into each one in a lot more detail, this is a summary of each one for just now
