SHRINKING Pores size
This blog s dedicated to my friend Suniana she has given me a few topics she would like me to talk about and this is one of them and that is why Ive called shrinking pores as that is what she text me and I thought it was so cute. So Sue Sue I hope you enjoy it….
Well lets start by understanding why we have larger pore of course larger pores are more common on oiler skin this is due to oil production.. The more oil we produce the larger the pores get to allow the oil to be realized onto skin… So excess oil is due the cell not working to its highest capacity, all imbalance in the skin weither it be acne or dryness or sensitivity can be traced back to the cell itself.. The cell is the power house of the skin and if this is not working to its highest capacity then imbalance such as excess oil occurs..
There are many ways to “shrink” pore size but all involve good PROFESSIONAL product. The most common and the oldest method is by using clay based masks these generally tend to be Kaolin based these work by naturally absorbing the oil and in the same time contracting the skin to help to minimize or reduce the pore size.. Next you have creams like moisturizers and serums that will have an BHA like salicylic or AHA such as lactic based, we all know how much i love me some salicylic acid, both are good but personally I prefer salicylic acid as this lipophylic which means it is attracted to oil so therefore pulled deep into the pore acts like a bubble and pulls the oil out to the surface of the skin but at the same time it will refine the size of the pore cause it refines the surface of the skin… Regular exfoliation will also help to a certain extent as its is polishing the skins surface.
Facials with peels is the most successful way to reduce pore size the peels will both take more of a layer of skin off to bring baby skin to the surface this minimizing pore size. Peels are also designed to penetrate to the cell this helps to wake the cell up getting it to work a higher capacity therefore it works better producing and balancing oil in the skin..
So I have a lot of clients that think the have large pores but in fact its its pitting on the skin due to acne.. This happens when the muscle gets damages due to cystic acne, when cystic acne pushes up through the different layers of skin we have, it can damage it due to the force it pushes through and this can leave an indentation in the skin which can look like pores but is in fact it is damaged muscle and this can not be reversed but with regular peeling of the skin it can minimize the look of them..
